why no sequel?

This movie was so great and a classic kind of like the mighty ducks and they didn't make a sequel? TMD had two sequels and were somewhat successful but heavyweights was better in some ways and they didn't follow up! They should have made a sequel. I think the best plot would have been something like this:

The kids all return to Camp Hope the next summer and Tony Perkis becomes owner of Camp MVP who want a rematch to win the Apache relay. The Bushkins return to camp and make the camp even more enjoyable after the bad events caused by Tony. The kids at Camp Hope become better at sports and start beating Camp MVP at every event they clash at such as softball and football, then comes the Apache relay again but this time it is different. They have to hike 20 miles like Tony made them, find the route back and if they give up and have to have a counselor get them back to camp, they other side wins. They have to conquer everything Tony tried to get them to do, except the dangerous things like cracking ice or climbing mountains, in order to win.

So many films get sequels that DONT deserve them. This is one of them, just watch it and pay attention to the story, it cant be done. Just like most childrens films sequels just completely kill it, ie the Beethoven films. Plus this wasnt really that great of a film.
