Why didn't they just call the kids' parents??

I know that Gerry's dad didn't believe him, but I bet if Tim, Pat and the nurse called the kids's parents, then I bet the parents' would believe that the kids were being abused. I know that this is a movie and it's supposed to be funny, but in real life, if that ever happened, I'd hope the more sane adults at the camp would call the kids' parents and say, "hey, this is happening and you need to come and pick up your child."

You know I have seen this movie a disgusting amount of times...and I never thought of that... weak. Oh well it's still one of my favorite movies of all time.

Well one thing to consider, the parents weren't listening to their kids, they might not believe the camp counselors calling them and saying the same thing were camp counselors. They might've thought it was more of their kids' attempt to come home because they didn't like camp.

That is the explanation I will except

But remember, all the other kids liked going when the Bushkins were in charge and they got to have fun. If the others called and told their parents about the new strict owners, it could be they didn't see the problem either since their kids did need to lose weight.
