Oh, I know. I mean, people in the 90s actually had a decent sense of humor and didn't take everything seriously. Obviously, the movie ends with the kids walking away feeling proud of themselves, etc. But a lot of 90s kids films were a lot funnier and full of more wit than half of the adult films out today.

which is a shame that a movie like this wouldn't be able to be made. yet movies like american pie got made all the time. lame

What the hell? It is totally PC. It is all about how fat kids are people too. That's the essence of political correctness, don't (negatively) stereotype people especially based on superficial characteristics.

I don't know if its all of us 90's kids grown up but damn most kids movies today look dumb as hell. I think its the lame fart jokes and daddy day camp crap. Also getting kicked in the nuts is overplayed. Billy crystal has that new one coming out that looks beyond bad. Its sad that all these comedies settle for the lowest common denominator.

I think he OP means some of the jokes in the movie, not the theme.

As a former fat kid I both loved and hated the movie lol. I loved that it was about kids with similar problems to me and how they should be accepted, yet I hated it because most non fatties that watched it were simply laughing at a bunch of kids for being fat. It reminded me that while we all should be accepted, being fat is still not a good thing. So while I loved it, and even as a fat kid could laugh at it, it totally made me feel akward.
