Nothing gets explained but at first he snitches on the guys but halfway through the movie he's shown as the guy who's supplying junk food for everybody, yet nothing is ever mentioned on why he turns on Tony.
shareI believe because he eventually started treating him and everyone else lousy. Plus he probably didn't think tony was going to starve them!~!

shareyeah I noticed this too. He just suddenly changes without them showing when he turned over.
Same with Lars... one minute he is Tony's closes ally and is tied up to a tree next time he is on screen he is helping them win the relay and cheering them on.
Actually, Dawson told Lars that if he didn't have a job, he'd be deported. so he asked if he was with them or not and Lars says, all scared, "I'm with you, I love you" and then he's seen eating food with the kids.
I would always rather be happy than dignified.
