Yeah, of course he quit dealing. That was the point of his elaborate scheme to get him and his sister out of that miserable life...and I really think Fresh was letting his old man win. He was wise but at the same time, he was a out of his mind.

I thought Samuel L. Jackson played that character well which I think was supposed to be kinda unlikable. At the end of the movie I wanted to hit him- F'n grouchy hypocrite is what he was.

Most likely went into witness protection with his sister, which means if he wanted to come back he'd be risking his life in doing so. It seemed to all come down on him in the end...his 3 friends dead over *beep* his sister strung out with no ambition to quit, the somewhat feeling of betrayal when he told the cop where to find the dope in esteban's place. His aunt trying to put him into a group home, scared that whoever killed chucky was gonna come there and get everyone including fresh. All that and the fact that he realized that this may be their last chess game ever...i have'nt seen a 14 year old take all that and not break down.

His father was saying that its time to be the man. you wanna play the man? Fresh became the MAN because he took out the two main dope dealers. But he was too little to handle it. he was still a little kid. THATS why he was crying.
