i wonder what would have happened to Fresh, or rather what decisions he would have chosen if his sister hadnt been strung out?

She didn't seem like she was worth "saving". She seemed to have welcomed the life she was living.

I guess the point is that Fresh loved her. It's one of his many redeeming characteristics.
