Jenny and Forrest

We know that Jenny was a damaged person. It is heavily implied that she was the victim of some form of abuse from her father. Forrest never wavers in his love for her, even during his time in Vietnam. She spends her life running from him and towards abusive men. She " enjoys " the sexual liberation and the drug culture of the 1970s. She only embraces him when she discovers that he is rich and has the means to look after her and their son. She knows that he will never say no to her. A user?

I always took it as, not her using him, but her knowing her time was short and she wanted to give him what he wanted as well as a life with their son. I never thought she was only back because of his money.

It wasn't just the money, although that was a factor. She knew Forrest would be a loving father. His mother had instilled some good values in him when she raised him.

Not really. She knew he was rich before she conceived her baby that last night with Forrest and slipped away in the early morning by cab.

She only "embraces" Forrest when she realizes she's dying and knew that Forrest would be the best person to raise their child. If she never caught AIDS/HepC, she would have continued to raise Forrest Jr. on her own.
