I don't get it...

Okay, this was really only rated 12 in Germany and 13 in Spain? Aren't both of those only equal to a "PG" rating in America?

Why? Why would the ratings board let a violence and profanity-laden movie, obviously not a kiddie cartoon, slide with a "PG" rating?

And also, is it true that Cary Elwes voiced Francis in the English dub? Wow. That's amazing.

I'm not sure but I don't think the mpaa ever gave it a rating. Anyways, I'm assuming a 12 in Germany and a 13 in Spain are the equivalent of a PG-13. Then again the mpaa is pretty strict about things so they'd probably give it an R due to violence/gore, language, & cat sex. They're also terrible at rating animated films. They gave the Cowboy Bebop movie an R and it really wasn't all that inappropriate for anyone over 13.

As for that question all I can say is that it certainly sounds like him.

I dunno about any american rating, but it would be lower rated in the european and asian countries. They have different views on what's ok for youth.

I remember that here in Germany it aired once in the afternoon and there were lots of complains about that, because parents thought its just a harmless cartoon and were quite shocked about the violence (the gutted cat for example) etc.
After that it was only shown around 10pm. The same happened with Watership Down.
