disappointing

i watched this movie after hearing it compared to movies like 'watership down'. after watching both i can say there is no comparison, and watership down is 1,000x better than felidae.

here are what i find to be felidae's shortcomings:

1. poor quality voice acting. it's supposed to be an 'adult movie' which happens to be a cartoon, so why does the voice acting sound like a disney television series? (this only applies to the english dubbed version).

2. low quality character animation for a feature film. again reminiscent of television series cartoons moreso than an animated movie.

3. compared to watership down the plot is very shallow and linear. there aren't deep inferences people will be discussing and debating over for years. there aren't any hard-hitting allegories, it's all just spelled out.

4. no emotion. despite the serious subject matter the movie never moves the viewer emotionally.

in summation it did not seem like an animated film for adults, but rather a children's cartoon with adult themes awkwardly thrown in. the plot is simple enough to bore most adults (while easy enough for a child to follow), the production quality is that to be expected from a children's cartoon, but there's sex and cussing and violence.

adult themes alone do not make a good film. felidae lacks the depth one expects from a good non-children's story.

Yeah, you missed the entire point of the film. So you basically lose!

These posts are stupid. The only thing i've ever seen it compared to the other two was in youtube comments when all it was comparing was the simple fact that it's not as suitable for children.

I agree with the poor voice acting. I thought it was a little wooden too. But I still love Felidae.

I love cats.
