A question 'CONTAINS SPOILERS'

I've only seen this film once so maybe I totally missed the part that explained this but let me ask anyway.

From what I understood the murderer wanted to create a pure race of cats and he killed a lot of male cats so they wouldn't interfere with any of the female cats he'd chosen. Now he does kill at least two female cats, the blind cat and the pregnant cat. The killing of the blind cat I can understand as she may have known too much but why kill the pregnant cat? Was it ever explained?

Anyway, if anyone can answer that, much obliged. Thank you!

There's no way I'm dying before you do, you morally bankrupt Colonel with a God complex.

reply

The pregnant Cat was killed, because the Embryos had the wrong Father.

And the blind cat was killed probably because she was a distraction to Francis, and Pascal didn't want him wasting his time mating with an impure cat.
