To me both the book and the film are like the aristrocats in reality. It isnt all singing and dancing, its a hard and cruel life.

It was a tongue-in-cheek reference regarding how these cats lead a very different life and have a very different story to the cats in that famous movie. Also pointing out that this is a much darker film for adults, rather than children. You won't see songs, dances and happy innocent kittens in this movie, that's for sure.

Sure, saying someone with a (admittedly outlandish, but hey I was very pissed off at the film at the time) negative opinion is a troll frees you from the responsibilities of trying to prove them otherwise. It's easy, but it's also lazy and borderline cowardly.
