I've seen some clips of this film on YouTube just now...

...and to be honest, I'm terrified. Unfortunately, I'm really intregued in it but I really don't want to be by how shaky I've become. It's not purely for gore and for the fact that there have rarely ever been any animated horror movies made from the West but really for the subconscious feeling this movie has which would make you feel like (please don't laugh at me for this, this is what I think) "perhaps this movie wasn't made from this world but by the feel of it from the sort of supernatural spirits you'd see in modern-day horror movies (like the girl from "Ringu" and it's remake) and that the movie is cursed", that's the message subconsciously I'm getting though it's obviously just totally nonsense I'm thinking.

I know, this is a *really* pointless topic but I just wanted to get my feelings of how this movie is like off my chest. I'm not saying it's bad, though I won't say it's good neither as I've never seen the full thing and only clips just now, but I only just discovered this movie a tiny while ago and...well...it's just making me feel really weird and uncomftorble just thinking about it! (I know, I'm such a wimp) *quivers*

P.S. Again, I'm sorry for how pointless this is, I just wanted to get a few things off my chest if you don't mind. :3

Its not really a horror so to speak, its more of a murder mystery, with horror overtones. The only really scary scenes are of the main characters nightmares, and I will admit those can be down right terrifying. That the foreboding felling that the film gives off. It is about a serial killer and a detective after all. But again in all truth it isn't really a horror film in general.

Are you referring to the video somebody made for Radiohead's "Myxomatosis"? That really creeped me out too! It reminded me a lot of Richard Adams books.

I'm not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your policework there, Lou.

That's how I found the movie was by reading through the comments of that youtube video. Psycho animation and violence. Myxomatosis is crazy by itself, then with Radiohead's crazy sound, and finally these visuals ... I think it's time for my therapy session ;)

I think the original poster is either completely insane or 5 years old. It's a detective story with cats. Sure there is a bit of gore when some of the bodies are found, Felicity's death being the most brutal, but it's nothing to get worked up about. Seriously calm down.

reply

Sure, because only a five year old or an insane person would find decapitated and disemboweled cats (even pregnant ones), disturbing, right? *sarcasm*

Dude I know how you feel, if you read my post http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109791/board/thread/116578347 which NO ONE responded too!!! (kidding) you'd know, lol I doubt it's an "evil movie" there was a whole team of animators and actors behind it and the author of the book is a cat lover
But I was absolutley horrified by all of the violence espeically the nightmares AGH! So I try and avoid watching too much of the movie if I can help it, the talking scenes are fine, the sex scene at first did weird things to me...but now meh the violence is much worse, it's very extreme and graphic I don't know how old you are but I'm 19 and was when I first saw it, had nightmares butI'm a softy anyway, you're not a wimp :)

When you watch a batshat insane Gregor Mendel toss around disembowled cats on puppet strings while laughing and ranting like a maniac...Well, i can't really blame you for your sentiments.

Yes, indeed. This movie was not made by man, but by Satan himself. Don't get me wrong I know that there is a great deal of naivety out there in the world, but I can't help but laugh at yours in particular. These might be the feelings of a child, but not an adult. At least, not a rationally thinking one. 19 you say? I do trust that you must be kidding or embellishing.

Although I'm not sure how I came to find this movie, I thought it was rather amusing as I was currently taking genetics at the time. While not extremely thought provoking nor a rigorous look into Mendelian genetics, it did sort of run across and accentuate the sentiments I'm sure many students encounter at one time or another while getting a Bachelor's degree in this field. It's always fun, albeit a little absurd and highly simplified, to see animals portraying the human condition. That's especially the case with ones originating in Germany that highlight many of the sentiments of WW2 Nazi experimentation and genetic cleansing. However, it's more of a murder mystery than anything else, but with cats.
