The most chilling portrail of the Holocaust I've ever seen. (spoilers)

I'm aware that the book is said to be better, but the movie was evocative enough. The normality of life under the Reich is so convincingly portrayed, it answers a question you'd probably never asked: What would be worse than the Holocaust we had? The answer of course is one they got away with, and one that no one really wants to know about twenty years on.

The movie ends with the heroes dying, but the secret having been revealed, and the regime collapsing, but while I can believe Joe Kennedy might scuttle an alliance with this information coming to light in the free world, the control the Nazis in the movie have over media, and people's general unwillingness to face horrible things, especially things in which they are complicit, would keep them in power.

Even when the word did get out, there would be sooo many who'd never want to believe it. We don't want to face what we're truly capable of as a species.
