Criterion Collection of Egoyan's Films
I really wish there were Special Editions of Egoyan's earlier movies. An EXOTICA spec. ed. would be awesome.

I guess since I've seen the movie over a dozen times, I just want more of it. Not necessarily all the cards shown to us, but insight into the making of/behind the scenes. Obviously, the ambiguity Egoyan sets up so wonderfully in each of the characters has to be maintained without giving away too much of their motivations. I don't want him to explain too much, and he wouldn't do that anyway, just more periphery aspects of the film.

I completely agree. I'm not big on commentary or deluxe editions – usually, I'd just rather see the film – but Atom Egoyan is one director who deserves the Criterion treatment. Until then, I'll just keep watching his movies ... again and again.

They need to do a 3-disc Criterion boxed set of The Adjuster, Exotica, and The Sweet Hereafter.

I'd like to see one just to get a release with a decent cover. Always hated the U.S. release video art.

The Canadian DVD and Bluray of Exotica uses the theatrical cover art featuring Mia Kirshner. It is also anamorphic widescreen and has an audio commentary from the director. I highly recommend getting it if you are a fan of film.
shareThank you for posting that information. I've had the original dvd for about 10 years, but didn't know they'd released a better version. Just ordered the blu-ray, looking forward to hearing Egoyan's commentary.
