*beep* top 250.This movie is a masterpiece.better than "Fish".
the rating should be 8.3 at least

It doesn't contain the usual stuff that Tim Burton is known for. No "weird" artistic visuals, no weird characters (well, at least in the sense that they are all regular humans in this film), no weird settings......I suppose I can see how it was overlooked in that sense.

But it's not like the film wasn't well-received. It was nominated for a few awards and Martin Landeau even won an Oscar I believe. There are plenty of Burton fans who love this film, even if it's not as well-known as Beetlejuice or Edward Scissorhands or whatever.

Even I was a little less-than-excited when watching this for the first time. A biopic on a filmmaker known for bad movies isn't the most exciting plot summary......but it didn't take long for the charm of the film to hook me. The tone is still Tim Burton all over it. Def one of my favorites.

I can easily consider this as Burton's masterpiece. How it didn't get nominated for more Oscars is beyond me.

Agreed. It is an excellent film, easily a 9/10.
