Landau really portrayed Lugosi well. I don't think many other actors could have pulled that off.

His performance was incredible, arguably one of my favorites from a Burton film.

Yes. Even though he looks like Martin Landau and it made perfect sense when I read so after the fact, I did not even think it was Martin Landau when I first watched the film!
