Rich people get mired in unfortunate problems? Well, boo-hoo!

The love problems of affluent yuppies are only interesting if we feel we know the characters; if we feel we can get beneath their surface, if they don't come with the prior hindrance of neurotic 'baggage'. A film such as Fatal Attraction understands that - this movie doesn't.

The end product must be akin to filming somebody doing a jigsaw. There's virtually no pacing whatsoever, it's just the various component pieces slotting together one by one. 2/10.

Follow your destiny; accept it, no matter where it leads you.

I think it is not about being rich, yuppie or whatever;it can be explained by bad destiny or blind looking.
The film is underrated and can be watched for James Spader.

I have to agree with you yersoy. I liked the film. The story is memorable.. not to mention James Spader. It seems like every movie I have seen him in he gives 110%. I didn't see this film to be at all yuppie..

By that ending, MrsToro, do you mean the one where Spader chokes Lena to death? or the alternative ending (which I haven't seen) where he walks away with his(?) daughter after committing Lena? I'm bugged that the DVD didn't include the alternate ending or the extended version that everyone is talking about...
and did you notice in the last 5 minutes as Spader & Lena are walking further away from the hospital buildings, their hair is different - hers is shorter, his is longer and more blonde and his face looks thinner. As I mentioned else where on these boards, I think they were called back several weeks after to reshoot that final scene ...
I agree with what you say about his acting making viewing almost compulsory. He was born to act, that's for sure. So bloody talented & completely natural. What a gift.
