STILL the greatest comic book movie of all time...

Just watched BvS and I gotta say the movie was alright. The current 7.4 rating is well warranted. The Dark Knight was epic af but this movie is just WOW to me. Simply put...AMAZING. I've had quite the obsession with this movie since I was a little kid. Is it the incredibly dark atmosphere Proyas eloquently crafted? Is that the grungy and industrial soundtrack this movie has? [Best movie soundtrack of all time in my opinion]. Is it the incredible amount of emotion this film tends to portray, i mean I could literally feel it pouring out of the film and this movie always makes me feel so sad and realize how *beep* the world can be [watching it on shrooms did not help with that btw]. Or maybe is it Brandon Lee's memorable performance and the tragedy in the way that he died, did it immortalize this film? Maybe it's all of it. IDK guys but I'm in love with this movie, the poetry the quotes, The Cure and Joy Division lyrics, the epic fight scenes and intensely imaginational ways to kill someone and All of that together just really struck me to the core in this film. I don't think any comic book movie will ever come close to matching the intensity and emotional feeling of this film. What do u guys think?

All I know is that I saw The Crow in the theaters 5 times and will only see BvS once. The Crow is a classic and a proper tribute to Brandon Lee. Even if he hadn't died it is still a far superior film.

Your admiration for this film... I can relate. As far as I'm concerned, it's in a league of its own ('specially when it comes to comic book movies).

You want something corny? You got it!

The Crow was filmed like 23 years ago and is still as great as ever. Most comic book movies are a good one time watch but feel pretty dated within 5 years.

reply

inclined to believe you tbh. the atmosphere and general feel to the crow is something else man. it's seriously intense. the fact brandon died in real life adds to it a lot i think.

This film is so strong on atmosphere that I honestly think even if nothing had happened to Brandon, people would still remark on the feel of the film being intense and compelling.

Agreed OP and everyone else who commented on this thread. Still the best comic book movie I've ever seen.

~What if this is as good as it gets?!~

Comic genre still have potential this what I thought after watching Crow today.Nothing comes to mind in compare with this one its funny that I didnt like it as a kid

The crow is a very good movie, but by no means is it the best comic book/graphic novel movie ever. It's not even remotely close to the book, they changed a TON of things for the movie. Besides the title and the names of the characters, you can barely tell that it's the same story.

That doesn't make it any less great as a cinematic art work.
