The TRUTH about CROOKLYN!!!!

Has anyone else ever wondered about the part when they were on their way out the door to go down south and the people come to cute their lights off...Did the father REALLY pay the bill or what???
Well, in this book that Spike wrote he talked about his father's drug problem and how when he was a child he knew nothing about it. This is why they didn't mention his habit in the movie but situations hinted...
*When he and his wife are arguing about the bad check he wrote*
*When the lights were shut off*
The movie was showcased through the eyes of Troy(Joi) so it was never brought up. But the problems that occured were briefly mentioned.

Yeah I was shocked when I found out the truth...but like I said it was seen through the eyes of Troy, who saw her father as a strong superman type man, ya know? You should read the book. It gives a break down on every movie that he ever directed.

Makes sense to me. I remember when Spike Lee was filming Malcolm X in Mecca, his father was arrested for buying crack in a park in Brooklyn. It was all over the news in NYC.
