Anybody feel sorry for the weird neighbor?

True, he was a strange guy and had some cleanliness issues. But that kid threw garbage on his property. He rightly got upset about it and gets hit in the jaw for his troubles. It just seemed like nobody respected him. This is a great film by the way, one of Lee's most underrated.

I did!!! He was a war veteran and was strange as hell. Sometimes people can be cruel to someone that is a bit of an outcast. He seemed to be out of touch with reality but no excuse for being an ass to him.

I felt bad for him too but I think the dad handled him a little better. He offered to help him instead of attacking him. The guy clearly had problems he wasn't just some strange mean old man.

Yeah, I really liked when the father offered to help him. That was really cool of Woody to do that, and you could tell that the neighbor appreciated being treated with respect and kindness. It also made me like the character Woody Carmichael even more.

Well, he should keep his apartment clean. He could have fire hazard issues, as well as the apartment smelling bad.

reply

I felt bad too. It seemed like he had a lot of animals because he couldn't relate to people, but that was the reason everyone hated him.

Why does Andrew get to get up? If he get's up we'll all get up! It'll be anarchy!

reply

He was strange, and yeah I felt bad for him. He seemed to be in awe of the father though. He calmed right down when he was talking to him, and could only speak in mono-syllables. Maybe it was because Woody was a musician.

Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man that he didn't already have.
