The Neighbor, Tony Eyes

Did anyone besides myself feel sorry for the dirty neighbor that was tormented by the kids? I especially felt bad for him when Woody Carmichael (Delroy Lindos character) gives him a little advice about cleanliness and offers to help him clean his house. David Patrick Kelly played patheic and sad so well.

Me too. But at least Woody was nice about it, well civil anyway.

I'm not a Puerto Rican but I'm speakin' so that you know.

Not on that point. Spike didn't necessarily want us to sympathize with them then. I think he did it to show that the kids weren't perfect. He actually made fun of the situation. And I think it seemed that way because Tony's shown as this unsavory character, at least from the kids perspective. But they both were just human, not all good, not all bad. I feel that he portrayed that well. But you have to remember this movie was from the kids' perspective.

Rest in peace Sherman Hemsley. You will be missed.
