It was a funny movie and it has copped a lot of flack. Sure, it is not the best comedy around, but you can do a lot worse than this film!
shareThis is one of the greatest movies of our time. I attented the montreal premiere in 1994 and won a "Cops and Robbersons" cap because I had an american dollar bill in my wallet. I though it out in the gargabe in a moment of crazyness. But my freind's dad professor Norman Cornett Phd, has kept his to this day.
shareCops and Robesrons is such a funny film! This is what a good comedy should be like. Good characters, funny lines and well made. Very funny!!!!!
shareI just saw it & must agree that it put a smile on my face.Just like every other Chevy Chase movie this was a really good movie. Not the best from Chevy stable but it does deserve a better rating though.
shareI completely agree. I haven't seen it in years and it's free on hulu right now. Awesome.
shareSorry to disagree but I found the whole mess kind of TV Movie like. Not funny and stilted. Chevy Chase I've always thought was a pompous ass. Off camera he lacks humor especially about himself. Jack Palance made this watchable but the rest of the cast was abysmal.
shareChevy Chase is a pompous ass when he is off camera, there is no denying that, but I don't get how that makes this movie not funny and stilted. It wasn't the best movie ever, but it was entertaining and certainly better than a lot of "comedies" out there today. I've always been surprised that this movie wasn't better received.
shareAgreed. I'd watch this over Knocked Up or 40 yo Virgin any day.
Jack Palance was great.

through the movie you get the impression the moviemakers was careful about not upsetting the audience, like the closet scene and right away from the beginning making sure revealing it was ketchup and so on. so was this chevy chase last decent movie according to critics and viewers alike? or did it happen a few years earlier? i can't recall of any other actor popular and in major movies for a decade (80's) and then free fall, no other of that "saturday night live" generation went the same destiny, like steve martin, bill murray, are major names after 1980s. can't be argued, i remember chase saying himself in an interview about working overseas "i don't get any work at home". i get alot of references to dracula in this movie. i remember when i was a kid thinking the photo album collection at the end credits of this made me want the movie to continue longer.
she covered the hinges with grease,
behind the blocked door without a key,
shameless tricks you use,
broke her way through,
and messed up my working room,
there i pick up the pieces you left on the floor,
trying to find the right nuts and bolts,
to get the wheel back on roll,
and the machinery wouldn't mean a thing at all,
if you didn't break through that door.
Totally agree. Jack Palance has Clint Eastwood's badassness
