Cult classic?

Upon its release, “Clifford” was a widely derided comedy, savagely panned by critics and ignored by audiences. In the decades since its rather brief theatrical run, “Clifford” has emerged as a cult classic with a fervent fanbase so loud that the film was screened as part of this year’s Turner Classic Movies Film Festival, with Short himself looking back at the misunderstood comedy…well, “classic,” may go to far, but you get the point.

They had a showing a few years ago. I guess it was after Grodin died because he wasn't there.

I seem to remember Grodin having a talk show or something I watched. Standard Hollywood liberal. Decent guy. No bells and whistles.

Of course, Martin Short was an offbeat comic on SCTV, the risque comedy alternative to the rather establishment SNL. I like Short and I imagine critics didn't like this because the humor flew over their heads.

Underground classics are usually hated by the majority.

Well, that comes with the territory.

Okay, here are some clips from "Clifford". It is awfully cheesy. 🤣
