A 40 year playing a 10 ten is awful. Martin Short is *beep* awful and *beep* annoying. He is box office poison. I can see why this awful *beep* film was on the shelf for three years after Orion went bankrupt. It should have stayed on the shelf. I think Charles Grodin tried to make this *beep* movie work, but it is just horrible and unwatchable. Easily one of the 100 Worst Movies EVER!

I guess I can't MAKE you like it, but geez...I really am amazed at how pissed off people got about this movie. Man, you all act like they murdered people with this movie.

adam nad is sooo right....thats what makes the movie so much fun to watch. Go back to watching Amistad and Lost in Translation...I'll stick with the man boy terrorist.

Well I actually agree. I watched this when I was 15 (11 years ago) and I wanted to KILL Clifford. I truly hated him, and to this day I cant stand the actor because of that role alone.

I thought this movie was awesome. It's awesome in the same way as the Warriors. I mean - if you take everything real seriously, and you take those movies at face value - then yeah, they seems lame. But if you allow yourself to get drawn into the ambiance of of the film, then it is much more enjoyable.
Of course, some people are too cool for school. And those cool dudes (perhaps they ride motorcycles and smoke great big cigars and wear lots of leather), they are probably too cool to laugh at silly jokes like the ones in Clifford.
If you watch this film like you do an oscar contender, of course you're going to hate it. But if you watch it like you do a Will Ferrel comedy or SNL then you'll most likely like it.
