Who was Roger?

It says Ben Savage played a kid named Roger. Now I saw this film along time ago and don't remember it real well, so can anyone tell me who Roger is.

Roger is the little boy in the beginning in 2050 when Clifford is old. Roger is trying to run away from his school, and runs into Clifford. Clifford tells Roger the story of how CRAZY he was when he was young, and how he ruined peoples lives.

Roger is the kid that Clifford's character is trying to deal with as a kindly old priest.
