If this movie was made in the last 5 or so years it would have done well. It is fairly similar to the movie elf, which was a success. The humor in this movie is a lot like that of recent comedies, such and underrated movie.

shareThis is one of the greatest B Movies I've ever seen. Anyone who has dealt with EXTREME problem children (or been one in the past) should get the humor. Martin Short's performance is brilliant as his aged and young versions of himself. It's like taking the narration from "A Christmas Story" to the nth degree by actually having the older version of the man play himself as a boy.
No contemporary critics got the humor, which is a sad commentary on the level of intelligence of critics who demand the most serious technique to filmmaking while railing against lost gems like "Clifford." Shame on you Siskel and Ebert for driving people away from this hilarious cult classic.
