WORST EVER!

I love Martin Short but this is the most boring and horrible movie he ever did, and Hollywood ever released. No wonder it took them so long to release it, Martin was probably hoping to get to the moon be it did. It rates right up there with Moment by Moment. Barf, I had to walk out, and never regretted it.

I like it

Yeah, it was pretty unwatchable. I too love Martin Short, but he and the rest of the cast seemed stuck in a movie with a less than stellar script and bad continuity and pace. The flow of the movie seemed stilted and many of the bits seemed forced and un Short-esque. Just a clinker. Every actor makes one.

It's not the be all, end all measurement, but I find that if a movie is shown widely on cable, movie channels, or DVD sales/rental that it was a well thought of movie. By that measurement, I can honestly say I've never heard another thing about Clifford after it came and went from the theater. Much like Ishtar in that respect.

i think this movie is soo funny, the faces that short makes are priceless. and when he plays the recorder and chucks the 7 11 drink, hahaha.

reply

Oh man, those faces are so genius! I never get tired of their overuse!
And WHO could forgot the recorder. So much originality.

OP: Agreed. Had I never seen Envy, I would still consider this the worst film I've ever seen.

You guys all must be kidding. This is not meant to be a "good" movie in the traditional sense. It is meant to make you laugh. This movie has made me laugh from the first time I saw it. It is brilliant in an absurdist type of way. Try not to laugh when Martin puts the lipstick on that Clifford switched for his chapstick... and then try even harder not to laugh when Clifford lambasts him in the kictchen, saying "WHAT A GOOF!" If you hate this movie, you are an *beep*

reply

A good movie is just that if it fulfills its purpose. Even if on the most base level that this movie is 'good' because it ONLY made me laugh...it fails completely. I think I chuckled twice. It was impossible to enjoy the rest. Accuse me of this or that, but the only way that you can 'prove' a movie is good or bad is by a consensus, which is the closest thing to proving the movie good or not. It doesn't help that 'Clifford' has a horrible consensus, and will be forgotten very soon. Forever.

I'm figuring you've never watched the movies on Sci-Fi Channel on the weekends.

Talk about candidates for worst movies of all time.

I think that part of the reason why a lot of people don't necessarily think of this as the "worst ever," is because it's a movie that understands how absured it is to have a 40 year old man play a 10 year, and as such, I think they did a good job of not taking themselves seriously when filming it.

reply

yeah it sure is a SILLY concept! ha.. ha........ ha

let's face it, it's the worst of all time.
