almost finished it, i'm just curious what are your thoughts on the movie? does it live up to the standards of the book? because the book is SUPERB!

There are times when the movie doesn't match up to the book as well, but there were a few parts that almost improved on the book. It's a good, not to mentioned underrated movie. If you liked the book, I'm sure you'll like the movie as well.

This is a typical board on IMDB. People are always crying foul when a "remake" isn't up to standards, or a movie strays from the "story" in the book.
Every movie tells its own story. This is a movie based on a book, not the movie version of a book. This movie is not supposed to convey the same messages or initiate the same conversations as the book. This movie is an adaptation from the general outline of a story presented in a book. Nothing more, nothing less.
