How come they dont make movies like this anymore?

Oh man was this movie funny, I mean they used to make more movies like this. you know, it had adult humour but it also had heart and wasn't mean spirited and cynical, or just plain stupid, like todays movies are (ex. hangover movies). the music score was even great and evoked the westerns of the past. there was an almost childlike sense of wonder this film had in that it seemed to try to evoke the style of the old westerns but with a modern sensibility that was hilarious. it was almost like a kid's movie but with adults LOL. all the characters were great and not what you would call vulgar, but just funny hilarious almost slaptstick. comedies today are awful and extremely disgusting/perverted. this movie was the anti-21st century comedy. they need to bring this kind of movies back!

Realism, Remakes and Unnecessary Sequels are ruining movies!

I guess the same reason the Westerns died out... *shrug*

Really... Don't know what I meant by that, but there you go.

Oh yeah, actually evolving demographic. That's all that needs to be said, I suppose.

I understand what he's saying, and it's not just about westerns. In general, most comedy is very sexual these days. I don't mind sex comedy and I'm not a prude, but it gets old when comedians and comedy writers rely too much on sex because they know how all they have to do is merely reference genitals and the immature masses will have a giggle fit. Comedy tended to be a little more mature and relied less on raunch in the 90s when it wasn't totally dominated by the frat pack.

Watched this movie again tonight and I was thinking the same thing. Funny how a 21 yr movie felt like a breath of fresh air.

Because Billy Crystal got old?

When he was in his prime, he was one funny cat.

One could say the same about Albert Brooks, who appears to have fallen off the other other than his appearance as Paul Rudd's dad in This is 40.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
