any chance of this on DVD soon?

True, it's not a hot seller.

But it's got some good qualities; I wouldn't rag on a movie I haven't seen.

I have seen this one, and it's one of my favourites. I was waiting for the DVD as well, as I had beaten up my VHS copy pretty badly. I worked in a video store when it came out and my boss, ironically, hated movies. We always had movies playing for customers as they walked around the store. When we played The Chase, he stood beneath the wall-mounted TV and stared up at the entire movie, laughing at the comedy right there in the store. He announced that he loved it, much to the shock of us employees and all the regulars.

It's a shot at the media & the flaws in the judicial process, and it's got a terrific ending that has impressed everyone I've forced to sit with me and watch it. The music's pretty good, too, though that of course should not make or break a movie. Anyway I'm just sayin' give it a chance some day, if you catch it on TV or don't know what else to rent. It's like a thinker (that doesn't tax you too much) without being a dull drama. There's a subtle sort of comedy to it all (especially if you consider the love scene ludicrous, as I do, even though I've done that), and there's some fun cameos (like Henry Rollins as a cop, Flea, and Anthony Kiedis (sp) from RHCP.)
