Fun, but too predictable
The film wasn't all bad, felt a little too claustrophobic because of a majority of shots being in the cars, but it had likable leads, some humor and some big-budget action, and one of the most high risk sex scenes I've seen.
However, it was just so predictable. From the moment you saw Kristy Swanson the end result was just too plain to see. What else could happen besides them falling in love? She grows to hate him more? Where's the drama in that? Plus, since you knew there was no way for Hammond to clear his name, you knew that in the end he'd have to keep running, and since they will fall in love, naturally she'll have to tag along.
I didn't buy him getting shot as reality for even a second, and who didn't predict that Natalie would step in to bail him out?
I liked the movie, and I guess I wasn't sure if they would eventually escape in the car or by some other means, but I would say it's major shortcoming was its predictability.
