The music

I like the whole soundtrack, there´s great stuff on it. Especially the twisted stuff like Primus and O.L.D. adds to the movie´s tone.
Actually, this movie is the reason I started listening to rock and metal again.
After watching it some couple of times I went out and bought records by White Zombie and Pitch Shifter.
So for that personal reason this movie has a special place in my heart (besides that the movie itself is great and I´m a fan of Edward Furlong´s work).

Does anyone know the name of the song/artist that is played when Michael kills the man in his bedroom by knifing him in the back?

reply

That´s O.L.D.
They contributed 4 songs to the soundtrack (though only 1 is on the CD), namely "a beginning" , "two of me" , "freak now" and "paracynthion".
The song "freak now" is on the soundtrack album so it can´t be that one. It must be one of the other three.
(You can find all of these songs on O.L.D.´s "the musical dimensions of sleastak" album. (1993, Earache Records)

How about the theme of the movie that pops up all the time, whats the name of that?

And the song that Trickster start from his own cd that sounds like Primus, whats the name of that?

reply

Trickster's song is Welcome to this World on Pork Soda. That has to be my favorite part in the whole movie. Spinetingling how he moves and just plain eerie.
"I arose from the lullaby
Enduring yet another tale..."

One of Primus´ best songs (combined with one of the best scenes in Brainscan!)

The theme itself is by George S. Clinton and is just called "Main title" ;)

"They worship neither a god nor a demon, but a dead man"

Yeah i loved the soundtrack. I remember going to see it on opening nite and then going straight to Ear X tacy to get the soundtrack. The Primus song was always my favorite as well. Trickster was just great the way he moved. Espicially how he slumped down in the chair.

I believe the song is "Grease Box" by Tad. It's the first song on their album "Inhaler".

The song at the end is "Grease Box" by TAD (Seattle grunge heroes/Sub Pop/etc.)

The music of the 90's was so cool - I miss all the good movies with great bands on the soundtrack, it's not the same nowadays

reply

I totally agree, films like Mallrats, S.F.W, The Crow..... all had great music defining the late 80's & 90's. These days with comic book conversions & all, we're being swallowed up by nu-metal giants all sounding the same or rap crap. someone should release a tribute album!
