Opening Sequence

I think this movie is ok but it has by far one of the best opening sequences of any movie i have ever seen. Nick Notle starts his speech before the game about how pathetic his team is. He curses and bad mouths his team before the game and exits the locker room several times. This is a good example of a coach that has lost many games and can't take it anymore.

There is another scene where he draws a heart on the board and asks his players if they know what that is. He then replies to his team that they need to show them that they have a heart by winning the ball game. I think this is a classic example of a coach who is comparable to Bobby Knight.

If the rest of the movie could have been better then I would highly recommend the film but it is really just enjoyable for the locker room scenes.

i thought it was a great movie, love owning it. but yes the opening scenes are amazing and Nolte is the ONLY one that could have made his character come to life. perfect acting for such a wild guy like Pete Bell. picking up the water cooler and throwing it across the room while the whole team watches stunned, is incredible and classic writing.
