Key ingredients to make 'BHC IV' a success and make us forget about 3

1. Jerry Bruckheimer's involvement- "BHC III" was not produced by Bruckheimer and look what it turned out to be. Rumor has it that he won't be involved in this one either, it'd be instead produced by Lorenzo DiBonaventura ("Transformers"). I hope it's still a rumor and that Eddie persuades Jerry Bruckheimer to help him "repair" this successful franchise.
Jerry has become one of the most influential producers in Hollywood since "BHC II", he can help Eddie on this one.

2. The return of John Ashton and Ronny Cox- They're retired but a good screenwriter should find a way to bring them back without killing off Billy Rosewood. It's a tradition of the "BHC" franchise that Axel avenges a friend's death.

3. Harold Faltermeyer- He hasn't scored a Hollywood feature since 1991's "Kuffs" (don't know why he stopped scoring for films). This oughta be a great comeback for him.

4. An action director- No more John Landis or any director that directs in his style. I'd suggest Dennis Dugan ("Blue Streak") or Thomas Carter ("Metro") and I'd welcome any other directors as long as they're action oriented.

i agree with the dennis dugan point, he did a good job on the action/comedy "blue streak"

as for bruckheimer, no thanks, nuff said.

tony scott did a good job directing BHC II, ive always been a fan of his directorial style.

i hope BHC II goes ahead, and id LOVE to see ronny cox and john ashton come back, number 3 wasnt the same without them.

and one more thing, number 3 was full of goofy sight gags and such, like the train screaming when it got stood on etc (although hilarious).

I don't think Dennis Dugan directed blue streak with Martin Lawrence I think it was Les Mayfield.....

Anyway Bruckenheimer tried to get this done back in 2002 or 2003 but after that he left the project alone.

It would be nice to see all the main players back in CopIV i'm sure there is a way to get it done.....

personally I want to see this work but I just dont know if it will be as good as the original or the first sequel.

I would let Martin Breast the original director do this one again...he knows the material...etc

with these projects it's key to have people who know the material and get that chemistry to work again

I'd love to see Bruckheimer, Murphy and the other principal castmembers of the first two films get together and do a balls to the wall action/adventure/comedy, maybe like Bad Boys II which reminded me of alotta old school action movies with the stunt work and action sequences.
