Why does the owner care about the Angels rumor?

If I'm an owner of the baseball team and my manager is winning games, why do I care whether he is getting tips from some 10 year old? I mean, if he's winning games for me, what does it matter?

For me, if the Bears are winning, Lovie Smith could be getting tips from Satan and it wouldn't really matter.

because I would think it would lead to bad publicity for him and the team to have a manager out there claiming he can see angels and him believing it.

Ya, I always thought it was pretty stupid that a team has gone from last place to first place and with 1 game left they are going to fire him because someone writes a story with an unnamed source about him believing angels are helping the team.

No-one would fire a guy for that, in that situation.

I think it was because the bad/negative publicity the team/owner didn't want. I mean how do you think it feels when reporters are often pestering in athletes to spill?

Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls it's more democratic.
