Lone Ranger(s)

the Lone Ranger wasn't alone. He had Tonto and Silver so he really wasn't alone was he?

so tnat name actually makes scents

reply

The Lone Ranger was named so because the character is the only survivor of a group of six Texas Rangers, rather than because he works alone (as he is usually accompanied by Tonto).

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

"The Lone Rangers" isn't quite as stupid as it sounds...

... It could actually be three people who used to roam alone, but are now together.

However it makes no sense in this context, two of them are brothers.

It's supposed to be an oxymoron. Like Iron Butterfly or Led Zeppelin.

"Shouldn't you be the THREE rangers?"

That makes sense, but it just doesn't sound airhead-ish enough, does it? Heh.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

If the band was comprised of talented and unusually bright and articulate musicians, the name The Lone Rangers would be a name most people assumed was intentional in order to be humorously ironic, but in the original context of this film about a group of airheads, then it makes sense they wouldn't understand why their name is ridiculous.
