Looks like the final two-part episode will be running in April. At least according to this article:

April 4th and 5th. I thought they were going to play during the holiday season. Two different endings. Will be interesting to see the alternate ending someday.

Apparently they filmed 3 alternative endings and Sir David Jason picked the version to be shown.
