I did read the book before seeing the tv miniseries. The Stand is up there with the first three Dark Tower novels as my favorites of King's works. I thought the movie was pretty good. Maybe they could have done something besides that glowing hand at the end, but otherwise, it was pretty true to the story.
shareI believe I saw the film first, as when I read the book for the first time, I recall wondering who Rita Blakemoor was. Still, I was impressed by the fidelity of the film to the novel. That's one of the reasons I like the mini-series as much as I do.
