Rather late to the party

But as a fan of the book I just have to say this is one of the worst possible adaptations they could have done.

Tie cashing was ridiculous, not meaning the actors were bad they just looked nothing like one would them expect to look. Some scenes are completely messed up and the wholesale dynamic got lost.
And the transformations of Flagg were just awful.

...but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

Personally, while it was not perfect, I thought it was a good adaptation, and is one of my all-time favorite films. And just FTR, this was my favorite Stephen King book, and one of my all-time favorites by any writer. For the most part, I liked the cast, and the script was quite good as well. I agree that they over-did the morphing of Flagg's face, and Molly Ringwald was miscast, but I think her acting here was competent.

Just curious, but which scenes do you think were 'completely messed up'? And How were they messed up?

I'm guessing you've never seen Under the Dome.

You mean how YOU expected them to look, right?

Remember, this was a made-for-tv miniseries back in 1994. A lot had to be trimmed. Also, this was based more on the 1978 version, than the C&U version.

Listen to them—the children of the night. What music they make!

Obviously I meant how I expected them to look. Would make no sense to make this statement for persons I don't know.

I have "seen" the dome, that's the reason I said one of the worst, no the worst.

Well how were they supposed to be consistent with how you personally pictured the characters?

OP, I am curious. What scenes were messed up?
