After enjoying more than 6 years of living dead action on, “The Walking Dead”,
I’ve discovered quite a few cross-over actors & actress’ that have been involved with both Stephen King’s productions & “The Walking Dead” universe. I thought I’d share my discoveries!

Greg Nicotero worked on, “Creepshow 2’ (1987) “Monkey Shines” (1988) “Misery” (1990) “The Night Flier” (1997) & “The Green Mile” (1999)

Merle Dixon: Actor, Michael Rooker portrayed, Sheriff Alan Pangborn
In Stephen King’s, “The Dark Half” (1993).

Dale Horvath: Actor, Jeffrey DeMunn was in 3 Stephen king productions:
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Green Mile (1999)
The Mist (2007)

Andrea Harrison: Actress, Laurie Holden was in 1 Stephen King production:
The Mist (2007)

Carol Peletier: Actress, Melissa McBride was in 1 Stephen King production:
The Mist (2007)

Officer Bello: (One of Dawn's people at Grady Memorial Hospital in TWD Season 5.) Actress, Amber Dawn Fox was in the Stephen King television series, “Under The Dome” (2012).

Sgt. Abraham Ford: Actor, Michael Cudlitz portrayed, Herb Smith in the Stephen King television series, “The Dead Zone” (2005)

It doesn't surprise me that Dale was in Shawshank, The Green Mile, and The Mist - as they have the same director. Frank Darabont also directed the series pilot for TWD, and was the showrunner for the first 2 seasons.

Stephen King was set to write an episode for TWD, but he apparently backed out of the plan when Darabont was fired/let go from the series.

Yeah. I'm on the Stephen King Web-site chat rooms a lot. I just found out about that too... Sort of a shame, as it might have been an interesting episode... I still haven't seen, "Cell" (I've read the book though.) which is Stephens take on the whole zombie universe... I've heard it got bad reviews. I don't care! I love the genre so much I even did a tribute video. Thank you for your comment.

I hadn't seen The Stand in probably 20 years & just started The Walking Dead about 3 years ago. When Rick first woke up in the hospital & there were dead people everywhere, I thought "Where have I seen this before?" The Stand of course. It's my fave book of all time & the mini series is up there in my top 5 or so. Behind Roots & Thorn Birds, lol.

Oh! Then you simply must read, Stephen King's, "Cell"!

Forgive me if this is OT, but I like to watch Michael Rooker, one of the actors mentioned in the OP. He is equally adept at playing heel or hero.

That was a good performance, all right. The film itself won't win any Oscars, but it was still a good fun film. Rooker, while he wasn't the villain in The Bone Collector, was certainly a malevolent nuisance to the good guys, and I thought that he did a good job as the victim The Replacement Killers.

Have you seen that HBO movie with Jena Malone called The Bastard Out of Carolina? That was a hard movie to watch, as it dealt with child abuse.

Rooker played an 8-year-old girl's uncle who finds out what her step-dad has been doing to her. I'll leave it at that.
