No Green Eyes

I will never understand why they didn't put green contacts on the Scarlett character in this movie. Scarlett's eyes were supposed to be emerald green, not brown...were we not supposed to notice?

And Scarlett famously has black hair, but her hair is dark auburn in the miniseries. Someone should have been fired for screwing up 2 of the most important details about the character of Scarlett. Luckily no one takes this travesty of a sequel seriously.

No, it was not a sequel to the movie, it was a movie version of the book Scarlett, which was a book sequel to the book Gone With the Wind. For example, Will Benteen was in the movie Scarlett, but nonexistant in the movie Gone With the Wind.

Just wanted to add, I did a search, and it says here that she had blue-green eyes, but then it puts violet in parentheses, which is really confusing LOL:

Q What colour were Vivien's eyes?
A Blue-green (violet). Which is why, if you look carefully at her films, her eyes change from blue to green in different scenes, appearing as if they match the dress or mood she's in.
This is the result of their natural colour, the film stock, as well as lens filters that enhance specific shades on screen. In the case of Gone With the Wind - these filters are used to bring out set details and costumes, but they also pick up and enhance eye colour. Since Vivien's eyes were naturally violet, either the colour blue or green could become more prominant depending on the surrounding colours or the outfit she wore.

So what? The children were in the book, Scarlett. She gave them to Suellen and Will to raise.
And again, was Will Benteen in the movie Scarlett?

Yes.

Was Will Benteen in the movie Gone With the Wind?

No.

Case closed!

You're just repeating yourself and adding on an aping of my "case closed"..not effective at all. Of course I'm citing Will Benteen. Will and Suellen agreed to raise Wade and Ella for Scarlett in the book "Scarlett". Therefore, the appearance of the children was not needed in the movie "Scarlett". Will Benteen's appearance in the movie "Scarlett" proves that the movie "Scarlett" is not a sequel to the movie "GWTW", as you asserted, since Will Benteen was not in the movie "GWTW".

Case really closed! Unless you want to repeat yourself again.

Vivien Leigh's hair in "Gone with the Wind" was not black? What TV set are you watching it on?

I'll forgive the fact that Scarlett was not green-eyed in a movie shot in 1939. I'm thinking it's a little easier to get colored contacts now.

Good point. The only problem I had with the original was that I thought Ashley should have been a lot hotter than Lesley Howard.
