American DVD Release

Does anyone know if/when this show will released on DVD in America? I know it's been released in England already.

I find this rather stupid. Why would it be released in the UK when it was a Canadian production? It was filmed in Toronto, and CTV ran it first.

Hopefully it'll come out soon.

Uh, 90% of television is released in the UK first on DVD. :(

Actually, I myself have found this on the Amazon.co.uk site, and is claimed to be a region free set. Anyone confirm this? And more importantly, what is the us-Uk exchange rate so I'd know how much this would be charged...

On the subject, any truth to the rumor I heard of Sony buying the rights and remaking the original Robocop film?

I thought you guys may like to know it's now been re-released at 66% cheaper (£12.99 = about $25) for the complete series on 6 discs.

I don't *know* if it is Region free but the original set was (I believe) and this is probably just re-packaging.

P.S. Don't be too jealous of us sometimes getting TV series early because of rights issues and syndication... you still get most movies first and we pay over $30 for a normal movie release even after discount!

I have the DVD set. Had to buy it on the internet. It's not region free, it's region 2. Unless you have a region 2 player, or a muliti-region machine, it won't work.

My set is Region 1...I hope you weren't talking about my set. I made it myself and it's Region 1 and will play on any American or Canadian DVD player.

You made it yourself? I was talking about the OFFICIAL released DVD in the UK, which is region 2.

Someone on this board said Region 4 was just released... hopefully region 1 coming soon.

The set released in Canada is region 1. I got mine off amazon for about 30 dollars and it plays fine.
