For me, Party of five is like Claire Danes parents die and she has more brothers, the way to treat the characters is much alike.

Kinda. But the feel of the show is more pointed toward a family, whereas MSCL was much more teen-targeted.

Both are AMAZING shows, but i find the stories different, and MSCL seems more realistic in terms of less drama and more every day life of a teen girl of the 1990's.
