Imo it's one of the best teen American shows of all time. Why didn't this show have more seasons?

It's one of my favorites, too. :) I watch the old episodes all the time.
I believe it was cancelled and when they tried to revive it for s2 Clare Danes was moving into film work instead. So season1 stands alone as a year or so in the so called life of the chases et al.
shareWhile the ending wasn't satisfying enough, I'm glad this show ended sooner than later. It's always better for a show to end while it's still in its prime than drag it on and on for several seasons.
These are nowhere near the best years of your life.
Hah, I really disagree. I'd love for this to get some more seasons and give full closure. I'm the kind who stop if it just goes on and and on so much - which means the best parts of it is what I would remember. And this show had potential for so many more "best parts"
shareI wish the show had lasted longer as well. MSCL managed to do what a lot of other teen shows don't, and that is to capture the subtle, nuanced moments that occur in peoples lives.
