Oh Jesus

Overly dramatic, dark lighting, trauma at all times AND CONSTANT OVER-REACTING! Is it really so shocking for a grown, long married couple to introduce handcuffs into the mix? OMG how do we handle it? It's so over the top!!Lame. Also--does everyone have to have food or gum in their mouth throughout the entire series? The sounds are disgusting. Smack smack. chew chew, slurp slurp. This show is not ground breaking. It just thinks it is.

Isnt real life one big overly dramatic event with constant over reactions?
I agree with the eating thing, it was irritating.....but hey people gobble stuff dont they?
When it first aired many moons ago it was ground breaking, in the sense that there had been no other show like it, simple!

In fairness, the general disgustingness of eating is addressed in the pilot. I never noticed people eating all the time in the show, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did it on purpose. I mean, teenagers are always eating, after all.

The over reacting is a teenage thing. Over reacting to handcuffs? Sure. I can see that. Not all people are comfortable with the idea. Not everyone is exposed to that kind of stuff. Especially a couple in their 40's back in the early 90's. Yes, that would be shocking for some people. I bet Patty was raised fairly conservatively so her being shocked by it is perfectly understandable. Patty and Graham were in their early 40's I'm guessing so that would make them teenagers in the 60's. They definitely weren't exposed to bondage at an early age. Not like we all are now. So yes, I can see the over reaction and why.

As far as the eating thing, the only one I really noticed it with was Rayanne. It could be annoying at times. I've known people like her with an oral fixation and have to constantly be eating something. I wonder if the actress was like,"Oh god, I can't eat anymore! What do you mean we've got to do another take?"

I agree with you- but I think the show is refreshing given its time. Also, re: the overacting, nothing annoys me more than Patty's open-mouth gaping and eye rolling all the darn time.
