A lot of people hated her but she didn't really bother me so much. I was around 26 when the show was on. If I was a teenager I probably would have disliked her too but now, at 42, I see why she acts like she does.
She was an overbearing obnoxious bossy moron. I find that only people that can relate to her personality or those who are sheep/followers and like to be bossed around have any sympathy for these types of arrogant insufferable individuals.
I didn't really buy that she was able to settle for someone like Graham either, I sensed very little chemistry between them when they were on screen.
Wow, that's a little harsh and way overthinking a tv character.
The thing was, that while I can understand a 'parental figure' on any TV show would have to ultimately play the heavy at some moment or another, I found her character particularly distressing. I just noted that throughout the series she had this way of spinning every issue into something about her, ie. Rayannes OD...in which she thinks Rayanne is 'rude for never thanking her' for saving her life.
shareHow was she selfish? Angela was the most selfish character on this show. Patty, however, went out her way to save the life of Rayanne. She was always there for Angela when she needed her. She helped Ricky out. I don't get how she's selfish, i think she let Angela get away with too much. My Mom would've slapped me if talked to her like that.

My issues with Patty really only extend to some of the faces she makes and how easily she was able to relate with Jordan Catalano in regards to sleeping with her daughters friend.
