Ok, this has been bugging me forever. When I was a kid, I remember watching at least ONE episode of this that was live action. It had the kids walking through some old house that had a bunch of weird stuff in it, and Mrs. Frizzle was there, and she really wierded them out. At the very end, she left, and the kids look out the window, and they see the animated version of her driving the school bus away.
Am I crazy? Or does this really exist???
You MAY be thinking of a special behind-the-scenes segment that aired along with the Holiday Special, according to Wikipedia. If not, then it probably wasn't a real official episode.

Yes, I believe this was a halloween special. I have the VHS. It feature two animated episode, one one sounds and one on bats. They were connected via the live action segment where a few kids get lost in a museum and run into Lily Tomlin who is supposed to be Mrs. Frizzle is disguise or something. The two episodes are told as stories by Tomlin.
