In the episode where they go to a farm, they learn it takes a male chicken and a female chicken to have a baby. They just don't say why. That would be interesting though.

Its never too early to have them learn about it. Actually the earlier they learn about it the less taboo it is for them, ergo the better they will understand when they hit puberty...
