Why Did Monica's Hair Lose so Much Volume?

Jennifer's hair was the same. And really, it was worse than Courteney's.

Jen and Courteney seemed to have more wavy hair, but decided to make it bone straight. Courteney's fluctuated a bit more. Sometimes it was thick-looking and nice. Sometimes, it was thin and unimpressive. And sometimes it looked thicker, but had some scraggle to it.

Straight hair will just look more thin than wavy, curly, or bushy, hair.Fran Drescher on the Nanny. Wren she had her hair curly, it was known to look big, but when she wore it straight, it didn't stand out as too bad.

Now Jennifer and Courteney both seemed to have thicker hair in season 7. And it looked much better than it did in seasons 5 & 6.

Her hair looks pretty thick. But she's also got it more wavy, rather than completely bone straight.

Then here's Jennifer -same season.

Her's is looking a bit thicker too.

But Jennifer for the most part, NEVER had the beautiful hair she had in season 1 + 2 again.

She needs flagellating.

Most likely because she was wearing it differently. But really, it could have been for any number of reasons. My guess is that as she aged, her hair thinned out the way many women's hair does. Men aren't the only ones who experience hair loss....it's just less noticeable with women because it's not as rapid.

The trend moved from volume & layers (which can add a ton of body) to the "sleek" flat ironed, bone-straight look.

Definitely just the styles of the times. Their hair in early seasons was what everyone wanted. They didn't have "the Rachel cut" for nothing! The hair was amazing!
Later on, when straighteners became more popular, the straight and flat look was what they did. Such a shame because they suited a bit of body!

Courtney Cox became rather anorexic in later seasons.

She should be whipped as punishment for it.
