Last Epsiode?

Hi. The last episode I remember watching of "Ellen", which I love, was an awful 2-part one that was a satire on documentaries.

Was this the last episode of the show?

If not, can anyone tell me what was - and what happened?

Thanks.

John

Yes, that was the final episode. It aired around the same time as the final episode of Seinfeld and got lost in all of the hype over that show. I've always thought it was a disappointing end for such a funny and ground-breaking show.

"Ellen: The Hollywood Tribute", 1&2, were not the last episodes, there were two more episodes: "When Ellen Talks, People Listen" (5.21) and "Vows" (5.22). But if my memory serves me right "The Hollywood tribute" were the last episodes filmed.

Vows..the episode where ellen asks her girlfriend to marry her after ellen's own parents RENEW their vows...is the last one.

wasn't too funny...but a decent ending. it was on tv the other day...i dont remeber seeing too much of the supporting cast!

and yes..the hollywood tribute duo shows were HORRID...not funny at ALL..CRINGEworthy almost..

most "last episodes" sucked..i love lucy's was mediocore, seinfelds was silly......and ellen's went out with a wimper

it's as if golden girls is the ONLY show with a great last episode

What could they have really done for the finale? I mean all the big changes in Ellen's life that would have been good for the finale were done. She realized she's gay. She moved from her apartment to a new home. She left her job at Buy the Book, which is where she worked since before the show started. She found a partner in Laurie. What could have happened in the finale?

And the Hollywood Tribute is the final episode, however, Vows is the final regular episode. I like the Hollywood Tribute, but not for an episode of the show, more for like a comedy special.

The team behind "Ellen" did not receive word from Disney on its cancelation until after the season wrapped, so filming a "final" episode was not possible.
